Meredith Maran from KQED's Forum Podcast

Journalist Meredith Maran's new book "My Lie" examines the recovered memory movement of the 1980s and 90s, when many people had memories of childhood abuse which later turned out to be faulty or fabricated.

  1. I didn't like this book. Maran never had any real memories of abuse and then claims without real evidence that others made the same mistake she did. Many at this time had real memories of abuse and proof that the abuse actually happened.

    Also, we aren't sure if Maran was or wasn't abused. Perhaps she is being influenced by the media now when denying abuse.
