ANNIE GRIFFITHS has one of the most enviable jobs there is. She was one of the first female photographers for National Geographic, a job that has taken her to hundreds of countries over the past three decades. Recently Griffiths dug deeply into the Society's archive and has collected some of their most memorable photographs, many of which have never been seen, in a new book titled "Simply Beautiful Photographs." Musician and author Buzzy Martin from Bob Edwards Weekend by Sirius XM Radio

BUZZY MARTIN is a musician and guitar teacher who gave lessons in an unusual place to some very unorthodox students. Martin took the position of Guitar Teacher at San Quentin State Prison in California and wrote an account of his experiences changing lives through music. Author Carlos Eire from Bob Edwards Weekend by Sirius XM Radio

In 1962, eleven year old CARLOS EIRE and his older brother Tony boarded an airplane in Cuba and left their parents and country behind, becoming not only refugees but also orphans. The brothers were two of 14,000 children airlifted out of "Castroland" in a mass exodus known as Operation Pedro Pan. Carlos Eire is now a professor of History and Religious Studies at Yale University. He won a National Book Award for his memoir, "Waiting for Snow in Havana." He picks up where that book left off, the moment he first set foot in the US, with "Learning to Die in Miami: Confessions of a Refugee Boy."

Author Mark Boyle from Bob Edwards Weekend by Sirius XM Radio

MARK BOYLE lives without cash and he manages just fine with his off-the-grid caravan, solar-powered laptop and toothpaste made from cuttlefish bones. Boyle was a successful businessman but he became disillusioned with society's obsession with money, so in 2008, he decided to try living for a year with no money at all. He shares his story in a new book titled, "Moneyless Man."

Journalist and author Kate Zernike from Bob Edwards Weekend by Sirius XM Radio

Over the past year, the Tea Party has increased in both size and visibility, making it the wildcard in next month's mid term elections. Tea Party candidates have beaten establishment Republicans in a number of recent primaries, but how will those candidates do in November? KATE ZERNIKE is a New York Times reporter who has been covering the Tea Party and has written the first definitive account of what she says is a vastly misunderstood movement. Her book is titled "Boiling Mad: Inside Tea Party America."
